  • Biography:
Alexandra Daini currently lives in Ontario. She inherited her passion for art from her parents, and took her first art lessons playing with clay at her father, the sculptor Hugo Daini’s, studio.

She later studied Graphic and Industrial Design in Caracas, Venezuela and Graphic Design in the Instituto Politecnico di Design, Milano, Italy. After working for an art books editorial house, she established her graphic design and photography studio. During this time she participated in various judged exhibitions in Caracas, Venezuela. In 1987 moved to Florida, and at the same time began experimenting with glass and clay, creating series of clay and fused glass jewelry. Looking for new materials, she discovered Silver Clay and incorporated it into her work. In her work we find an ever present inspiration from nature: its textures, colors, and organic shapes.
    Philosophy:
  • We learn by doing, I believe in hands on experience.
  • Keep it easy and organized.
  • Teaching the basics gives the student the tools to build anything.
  • Provide plenty of examples and printed material.
  • The best reward a teacher has is that spark in a student's eyes when she realizes that she can create something beautiful.
