  • Biography:
My first memories were of drawing. I filled hundreds of paper tablets full of drawings even when I was only three years old.

During my high school and college years, I continued to study drawing and painting, receiving my BFA degree from the University of Georgia in 1972. In college, I studied graphic desgin and architecture along with drawing, painting and ceramics. I had the honor of studying under one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s former students.

Following graduation, I took a job drafting maps for the oil industry. I specialized in airbrushing maps and creating illustrations for geologists’ published papers.

With the arrival of two children, I continued to create at home by establishing a home based slide business, serving the oil industry with slide illustrations.

I joined a software development company that created the illustration software that I had been using for many years, Macromedia FreeHand. I was an asset as a software tester because of my ability to create complex illustrations with the software. After 10 years, I retired as the Senior Software Quality Assurance Testing Manager.

Creating, commercial software for 10 years is enough for one lifetime. In 2002, I had started beading as a relief from the stresses of work. I became fascinated with the beautiful focal beads available and attended courses to create the beads I so admired.

I began classes with Sallie Bly, Senior Art Clay Silver Instructor which created a new passion. I started an onlin store to display and sell my beads and unique handmade silver. I teach private instruction in beadmaking and Art Clay Silver. My eBay store has a loyal following of customers who really enjoy my tiny works of art. Recently, I opened an Etsy (http://www.artglassbeads.etsy.com) store where new customers are being introduced to my beads and jewelry.
