  • Biography:
My earliest memory of doing anything art related was in third grade, when I would combine different crayons to create new colors. It has been a never ending journey from there. Turning down an art scholarship, I chose computers as my main profession, but I've never lost my love of arts and crafts.

I got involved with metal clay after I started creating my own sterling, fused glass, and semi-precious stone jewelry. I took an Introduction to Art Clay class in the summer of 2006 and was immediately hooked. Since I love to teach as well, I pursued certification and quickly advanced to level three in PMC. Because I started out with Art Clay, I chose to "return to my roots", and took an Art Clay Crossover class and then a Senior Instructor Certification class. My goal is to retire from my 'real' job and continue to teach and create my own metal clay jewelry.
    Philosophy:
I believe learning keeps us young, and for me, the best way to learn is to teach. Every one of my students helps me learn to be a better instructor. Teaching is a labor of love...hard work, but to see the expressions on students faces when that 'white thing' is burnished to a matte silver color, well, that makes it all worthwhile.
