What do you love about Art Clay? What I love about Art Clay Silver is that it is an ever–evolving art form. There is always something new to learn and a new technique to try. The magic of working with metal clay never fails to excite me. |
What are your favorite Art Clay projects/creations? My favorite creations are pieces made with mixed metals. I especially love mixing copper with silver. |
What other media do you work and/or teach in? I do some knitting, sewing and beadwork. |
Biography: As long as I can remember I have had the need to create. Other members of my family were talented artists, but I can’t paint or draw so I had to find another creative outlet. I started with fiber arts and moved through knitting, sewing, weaving and spinning and moved on to beading. A silversmith course, some polymer clay, and then the ultimate lampworked beads. I loved the beads, but didn’t enjoy working with the torch. At one of my lampworking classes the teacher (Barbara Becker Simon) mention this new wonderful product called metal clay. I took my first class and was hooked. I have gone on to study with both PMC and Art Clay Silver and got my Senior Certification in Art Clay Silver with Jane Levy, a truly wonderful artist and teacher. |
Philosophy: My philosophy is simple, don’t do anything to anyone you wouldn’t want done to yourself (The Golden Rule) and keep creating beauty. Those two things keep me happy. |
