What do you love about Art Clay? It allows me to create original designed jewelry. I have alway been interested in jewelry and have wanted to create my own. When I learned about Art Clay, I was very interested because the clay is very easy to handle. |
What are your favorite Art Clay projects/creations? My favorite Art Clay project is making jewelry like rings pendants, earrings and bracelets that have been created through my inspiration. |
What other media do you work and/or teach in? Pottery, China Painting, Tole Painting, Doll House Making, and Stained Glass |
Biography: I grew up in Tokyo, Japan, and I was always surrounded by both traditional and contemporary art. I was lucky enough to explore the power and beauty of Art Clay when it first developed in Japan. In 2003, I received my Level One Instructor Certificaton and taught classes at a cultural center in Tokyo. After moving to Toronto, Canada, in 2004, I became a Senior Instructor. Since then I have given lessons to people interested in Art Clay. I currently have about 20 students that attend my clases twice a week, every other week. |
Philosophy: I believe in creativity. Every one of us is given creativity. When teaching Art Clay, I encourage originality and creativity. I always enjoy being suprised (and inspired) by the unique ideas beyond my imagination. |
